Madonna Threatens To Cancel Outdoor Concert Over A Few Fans Smoking

Madonna may have been photographed plenty back in the day with a cigarette in her mouth, but like many other people, she’s gotten very anti-smoking over the past few years. In fact, she threatened to cancel her own concert in Santiago, Chile on Wednesday during an impromptu and surprising rant because a small number of people were smoking cigarettes during her sound check.
You can take a look at footage of the incident below…
Ordinarily when people are concerned about smoking, it’s because the huffing and puffing is taking place in a small confined space. Outside in a large stadium isn’t exactly a small and confined space, but if the Material Girl needs a smokeless environment these days to maximize her performances, I’m pretty sure most of her fans would rather give her that and see the woman at her best.
Still, the incident isn’t exactly the best PR for Madonna’s MDNA Tour. The series of stops earned more money than any other in 2012 with more than $200,000,000 in grosses, but it’s also been marked by some strange incidents including the pop star taking the stage three hours late for her gig in Miami, Florida.
Fortunately, the show in Santiago, Chile went on, and by all accounts, the majority of fans left the venue pleased with their smokeless experiences.
