Mary Tyler Moore is well known in Hollywood for her outstanding career on television. The actress stared in sitcom’s like The Dick Van Dyke Show as Laura Petrie, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show as Mary Richards; televisions first prototypical single career woman. In recent news, the Hollywood icon has decided to undergo brain surgery to remove a meningioma. Which is “a benign tumor of the lining tissue of the brain,” according to People.com.

A representative of Moore’s tells People: “At the recommendation of her neurologist, who has been monitoring this for years, and a neurosurgeon, Mary decided to proceed with this fairly routine procedure.” The veteran star, who is now 73, won't let this surgery affect her work schedule. Tyler Moore has recently appeared in Vanity Fair's annual 'Hollywood Issue' to celebrate the 30th anniversary for her Oscar nomination in Ordinary People. Staying busy, The Rachel Ray Show has also welcomed the actress, and Dick Van Dyke, to their studio for an interview taped on May 5th.
