Sir Paul McCartney, the supremely wealthy former Beatle, was in a London court Thursday to finalize a settlement in his divorce from Heather Mills. The Huffington Post reports the couple arrived separately to London’s Royal Court of Justice. McCartney arrived in a dark grey suit, while Mills had to be shielded from view with a blanket carried by bodyguards. Moments later, an aide for Mills carried a wheelchair inside the courthouse for the onetime model who lost a leg in a 1993 motorcycle accident.

To ensure as much privacy as possible the hearing was listed only by its case number. A small viewing hole in the courtroom used by security was discreetly covered to avert spying eyes.

News reports speculate the most pressing matter is likely the size of the financial settlement from McCartney, whose assets are rumored to total nearly $1 billion. The settlement is estimated somewhere between $40 million and $100 million.

McCartney and Mills were married in 2002 and have a 3-year-old daughter. After four years of marriage they announced their split. McCartney married Mills four years after the death of his first wife, Linda, who died of breast cancer. Mills, 39, was a recent contestant on the television show Dancing With the Stars as the first contestant to compete and lose with an artificial limb.
