The Miami Heat Reportedly Made Championship Rings For Lebron, Dwyane And Chris' Women

Championship rings typically go to players, coaches and members of the front office after championships are won, but now and again, exceptions can be made. LeBron James reportedly asked the Miami Heat to manufacture a ring for his longtime fiancé Savannah and Pat Riley and company said yes. In fact, they even decided to take the goodwill gesture a step further.
According to MediaTakeOut, special rings were also made for Chris Bosh’s wife Adrienne and Dwyane Wade’s girlfriend Gabrielle Union. Unfortunately, all of the other players’ women were not given such an honor.
There are two different ways to look at this situation. On the one hand, it’s a really nice gesture for the Heat to do this for its three stars. Championship rings cost thousands of dollars a piece, and the owner could have easily pointed to history as a reason to say no. On the other hand, this could potentially cause friction between these three women and those with the rest of the guys on the team, which could cause friction between team members. James, Wade and Bosh may have been far and away the team’s three best players, but more than a few others made clear, tangible contributions during the run to the title too.
The Bulls fan in me hopes this causes all kinds of locker room distractions, but the decent human being inside me hopes this will be taken by all involved as just the nice gesture it was intended to be.
