Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s rather unconventional four-year-relationship may have finally reached its ending point. The latest round of gossip is claiming the young lovers have officially decided to go their separate ways. If so, the split would end a long gossipy period of on again off again fights and make-ups that allegedly featured both marriage proposals and a you-need-to-break-up intervention from the Hunger Games actor’s brothers.

The split claim has come from a lot of different outlets, but perhaps the loudest has been US Weekly. The magazine claims to have heard from multiple sources that said intervention apparently worked and the two are definitely dunzo. That being said, I wouldn’t put any money in Vegas on it until pictures emerge of Hemsworth haggling with someone inside a pawn shop over a 3.5 carat diamond ring and whether he can get even half of his initial investment back.

At twenty-three and twenty respectively, Hemsworth and Cyrus have plenty of time to find the people they’re meant to be with. After all, most of us have at least one or two very serious relationships before we settle down and launch into something that could actually work long-term. Luckily for us, however, those relationships don’t play out in the public eye in all their childish eccentricities and heightened emotions.

Here’s to hoping Miley and Liam make the best decision concerning their relationship as they can, whether that means being together or officially walking apart.
