Liza Minnelli has been battling alcoholism for three decades - and continues to struggle with her addiction on a daily basis.

The Cabaret star didn't sip her first drink until she was 30 - but eight years later, Minnelli had developed a substance abuse problem and was forced to acknowledge she was an addict.

She checked into California's Betty Ford Center and successfully kicked her habit - but the 62-year-old, a longtime Alcoholics Anonymous member, insists she still fears a relapse.

She says, "I will tell you this. It's been a long, long time (since my last drink). I'm a recovering alcoholic, though. I will never say I've recovered." (PAW/WNSMAS/MT)
