Miranda Kerr Couldn't Figure Out Why Victoria's Secret Hired Her

Miranda Kerr may have been given the honor of wearing a two and a half million dollar bra at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but that doesn’t mean she always thought she belonged. The Australian beauty, a model since she was thirteen, was floored when she was first offered a contract with the company, especially after she met the other models.
In a revealing interview with New York Magazine, Kerr told the publication she was at first confused why Victoria’s Secret wanted her. She was introduced to Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima and thought, “What am I doing here?” Time, however, has lessened her feelings of insecurity and altered her ideas about beauty. Ideally, she’d like to see that same confidence she now feels resonate with all women.
“All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too. I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness.”
The dynamic of a knockout model telling other women to be comfortable in their own skin is always a bit strange, but I have no doubts about Kerr’s sincerity. She’s always come off as a likeable and down to Earth woman, and the above quote illustrates that.
Curious souls can check out her incredibly expensive bra tonight on CBS during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Maroon 5, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj will be performing; so, there should be something there for everyone.
