My Chemical Romance Star Sues Over Dog's Death

My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar is taking legal action against a dog trainer after his beloved pet died in the man's care.

The rocker spent $7,500 to place German shepherd mix, Dixie, with Daniel Schaffer's California kennel in April (09), to help the formerly abused rescue dog adjust to a new pet in his household. Bryar was devastated when he was informed his faithful friend had perished in a car accident, when Schaffer's vehicle, which was carrying Dixie and other dogs, was struck by a drunk driver.

The star's lawsuit, filed in California's Burbank Superior Court, states Bryar demanded to see a police report of the accident and alleges Schaffer failed to produce the papers and subsequently changed his story - saying the dog died in her sleep. Bryar alleges Schaffer changed that story again to claim the animal died under other circumstances.

The musician says in a statement to People.com, "I don't even know what happened to my best friend and miss her more than anything in the world. The devastation I feel is beyond words."

Bryar is suing for breach of contract, fraud, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. (LR/WNWCPL/KD)
