Paris Jackson might be moving on without her father, but that doesnít mean his words donít still shape her goals, dreams and outlook. The thirteen year-old taped an interview for Ellen today in which she spoke of her love for acting, her past and her efforts to be seen as a normal kid. The wannabe actress grew up with full knowledge of her fatherís lofty musical accomplishments, but she had no idea he could act until she saw his role in Moonwalker. That was the moment in which she realized she wanted to perform.

The full sitdown will air Thursday, but according to People, thereís some other moments of note beyond Hollywood. Perhaps the most fascinating involves the mask Paris was forced to wear as a child. She admits it was a bit weird but also says she knew where her father was coming from. Check out the excerpt belowÖ
I'm like, 'This is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?' But I kind of realized the older I got, like, he only tried to protect us. And he'd explain that to us, too."

Michael Jackson was a weird guy, but he definitely cared for his children. Iím not going to defend the whole mask wearing thing, but Iíll be the first to admit I have no idea how I would react if photographers were constantly taking pictures of my children every time they left the house. Itís important for kids to feel normal, which is probably why Paris is enjoying her school so much. She told Ellen sheís been treated just like everyone else at school, which is a relief given how sheís sometimes treated by the outside world.

I have no idea where Parisí career might take her or how successful she might be in the upcoming movie Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys, but I do know she comes off as an engaging and likeable girl. In the long run, thatís probably more important anyway.
