Royal Baby On The Way: Prince William And Kate Middleton Are Expecting
By Kelly West 2 years ago
Since their wedding in 2011, romantics and fans of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have likely been waiting for word on when Kate and William would start a family. Well, it's official! Kate Middleton is expecting a child. Word is, she's in the early stages of her pregnancy and, unfortunately, has been experiencing a bit of morning sickness.
Rumors have recently been circulating that William and Kate were trying to start a family, but confirmation of Kate's pregnancy is no rumor. The official word comes via E! Online, who posted a statement from St. James' Palace this morning, which states:
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby."
Details beyond that are slim. There's no word on the gender of the baby, or even when William and Kate's first child is expected to arrive. But we do know that she's in the "very early stages" of this pregnancy, and that Kate was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London due to "hyperemesis gravidarum," which translates to acute morning sickness. While morning sickness is a pretty common affliction for expecting women, it sounds like Kate will be in the hospital for a few days after which she's expected to rest at home.
Hearing that Kate is under the weather is bad news, but hopefully it passes soon enough and she and the baby will be given a clean bill of health. In the meantime, word of the pregnancy is definitely good and exciting news. And there will likely be much to speculate on between now and the baby's arrival. When's the due date? What names are they toying with? Will they learn the baby's gender before he or she is born?
Congratulations to William and Kate!
