Radiohead King Of Limbs: Live From The Basement Being Sold In Time For Christmas Delivery
By Jessica Grabert 3 years ago
Radiohead is getting busy during the holidays this year. The band is set to release a Blu-Ray and DVD performance of 2011’s King of Limbs before the year is out. Early bird copies of King of Limbs: Live From The Basement are currently up for preorder at Radiohead’s site. Here’s the clincher, though: if you order now through the Radiohead site, your set should make it to your door before Christmas. The idea assumedly is to make the package a great holiday gift for big Radiohead enthusiasts.
If you like King of Limbs, the disc sounds like a pretty good bet. The 55-minute performance was originally recorded for a From The Basement segment, and will feature every song off of King of Limbs. The whole thing is also being produced by long time collaborator Nigel Godrich, who has worked with Radiohead since he helped engineer The Bends during its recording in 1994. Besides the performance itself, copies will include a coupon for a free digital download (available starting December 19) as well as a 32-page booklet. Two unrecorded songs “Staircase” and “The Daily Mail” will join the single “Supercollider” to round out the set.
If you want to wait and get a copy from a regular retailer, you’ll have to hang out “probably until the end of January” when the performance is expected to become available, elsewhere. It’s super sweet the band is making an effort to get copies out before the holidays. Less exciting that I’m gonna have to pull out the ‘ole pound to dollar conversion.
