Rapper Drake has been all over the news recently, providing his fans with a lot to talk about. Among the chatter has been his curated music festival and OVO in Toronto. Special guests at the event included Lil Wayne and Nas performing songs with Drake, and but the real attraction was multi-instrumentalist Stevie Wonder who also performed alongside Drake. During their set, Wonder and the aforementioned rapper belted out songs like “Ribbons In The Sky”, “Sir Duke”, “I Wish”, “My Cheri Amour”, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, and “Superstitious.” This created an uproar of lush reviews and inspired the duo to consider working together in the future. Circulating the music world, via Much Music, is news of Wonder’s appearance on the rapper's forthcoming studio album Take Care. It was said that he would only appear on two tracks, but now it’s turned into six. Could this be from the festival appearance?
Most fans of Drake will love this collaboration, because the eclectic mix of Wonder's amazing instrumentals, and the rapper's smooth R&B voice, will complement each other perfectly. Anybody wondering how this collaborative effort will work should have slim to no worries at all. Most music critics out there, me included, feel this is an appropriate duo. Talking to Much Music, Drake explains his work with the organist: “[Stevie Wonder] helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience.”
Even the hip-hop artist reaffirming the “Superstition” hit-maker’s assistance in this record should be enough proof. Most recently, Drake released his new single from the record Take Care called “Headlines.” The song showcases a familiar style that we've all heard before, but his songs will surely mix up when Wonder is featured.
