Rick Ross And Young Jeezy Involved In Altercation Backstage At BET Hip Hop Awards

The BET Hip Hop Awards were taped earlier this evening and will air on October 9. The special reportedly featured performances by a slew of popular artists including Wiz Khalifa and Rick Ross. By all accounts, all who took the stage knocked it out of the park. Unfortunately, no one is talking about any of those performances because of what happened backstage.

According to All Hip Hop, the evening featured two different confrontations between rappers. The first featured 50 Cent and Gunplay but doesn’t seem to have been a huge issue. The second involved Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and a few minutes later, the police.

It’s unclear what exactly the two men were arguing over, but a verbal war backstage reportedly descended into pushing and shoving. The altercation later spilled into the parking lot, and some sources are claiming at least one shot was fired. No one appears to have been injured, and the police confirmed no arrests have been made as of press time.

Most people in attendance likely weren’t even exactly sure what happened, but when the police arrived, the building was placed on lockdown for a short period of time. One would imagine the entire brouhaha and confusion will be edited out of the broadcast of the award show, but I suppose we won’t know for sure until the footage actually airs.
