Ricki Lake Gets Married In Secret Ceremony

We often think of elopements as involving pregnant teenagers or grooms despised by fathers-in-law, but now and again, they’re just the result of personal choices. That was the case with talk show host and Hairspray star Ricki Lake who secretly tied the knot with her fiancé over the weekend.

It’s been almost a decade since the celebrity parted ways with her first husband Rob Sussman, and the deterioration of that union left her feeling as if she’d never be a wife again. Speaking to People, Lake told the outlet those feelings went away as soon as she met Christian Evans however. He’s three years her junior, and the two “clicked” instantly, leaving the actress feeling like he was the man she was always destined to be with.

The official ceremony took place on Sunday in Southern California. Given the shotgun nature of the I-Dos, it’s not surprising we don’t know any details beyond that, but regardless of who was there or how it went down, Lake seems positively happy with the ultimate result.
