Rivers Held Hostage In Costa Rica
Joan Rivers missed a flight home to Los Angeles from Costa Rica on Sunday (03Jan10) over a passport row.
The comedienne claims she was "held hostage" by airport security before boarding a flight to Newark, New Jersey, when officials questioned the wording of official documents. Rivers is listed as Joan Rosenberg AKA Joan Rivers on the passport - Rosenberg is the star's married name.
According to TMZ.com, police were called to the airport and, amid the fuss, Rivers, 76, missed her flight and was forced to spend another night in Costa Rica. She flew home on Monday morning (04Jan10).
