Robin Roberts has a lot to blog about. The Good Morning America host took a leave of absence at the beginning of the month, after finding out she needed to leave the show to take care of her myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a bone marrow disease that can be treated through chemotherapy and a transplant. The famous hostís chemo began last week, and she has come out to talk about the experience.
On Tuesday, Roberts took to her blog to discuss the days leading up to her treatment and how she felt strong heading into the initial round. Although the treatments have left her a little under the weather, she says she is looking forward to the future with strength and fortitude.
ďThe start of last week went well but the daily chemo/treatment caught up to me by the weekend. My body is so weak but not my mind. YOU give me the courage to keep going.Ē
Robins had another round of chemotherapy scheduled for today, and the big marrow transplant is scheduled for later this week. Robinís been pretty selfless through this entire personal experience, going to lengths to make sure her fans know she is even thinking of them, which is pretty incredible.
For an update on the 51-year-oldís condition, Good Morning America has a special episode planned Thursday. Robertsí doctor will be on the show to talk about how Roberts is doing.
Good Morning, America airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET.
