Russell Brand Says He And Katy Perry Weren't Compatible

Russell Brand has never talked about the specific reasons behind his divorce from Katy Perry, but he vaguely addressed the subject during a new interview. Apparently, he and the pop star had compatibility issues, and from his perspective, it’s best to split from a partner who you can’t share things with.

The sitdown in question occurred with the Australian version of 60 Minutes earlier this week, and not surprisingly, Brand took the comedic approach. His long-winded explanation wound up touching on everything from mountain biking to crystal meth. You can take a look at a portion of its surprisingly astute weirdness below, courtesy of US Weekly

”I think if you're someone who's really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone who's into mountain biking, and if you're really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who's into Eastern mysticism. I think if you're a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble. I've been in a lot of trouble."

Brand may not have been able to work it out with Perry, but the fact that he’s continually refused to say anything negative about her is really impressive. It might be momentarily satisfying to bash an ex-wife, but in the long run, it doesn’t do anyone any favors.

More than likely, we’ll never know what happened between Brand and Perry, but that’s okay. A lack of compatibility is enough of an explanation for all of us.
