Ryan Gosling Is Embarrassed He Got Involved In Street Fight Caught On Tape
In late August, everyone in the world fell even deeper in love with Ryan Gosling after he was captured on video trying to break up a street fight in the St. Marks area of lower Manhattan. Yes, while dozens of people just stood idly by enjoying the show, SuperGosling took it upon himself to jump in and try to help resolve the issue. Swoon.
The actor, who is currently promoting his much-anticipated films Drive and The Ides of March, now claims he is embarrassed that he got involved with the fight at all. He told MTV, "I should have just kept my nose out of it."
Check out his description of the fight below:
"It was sad, because it turns out... I said to the guy, 'Why are you doing this?' He said, 'He tried to steal my painting.' I said, 'How do you know?' and he said, 'Well, he comes here every day and looks at my paintings.' Which means the guy was a fan, and so he wanted the painting so bad he had to steal it because he couldn't afford it. So he finally steals the painting and he's getting his ass kicked by his hero, and then the guy from The Notebook shows up and makes it weirder. The whole thing... nobody wins. Nobody won."
So, why did he even get involved in the first place? "You know, I had just come from the gymnasium and I was all stretched out, and feeling... warmed up." Gulp. I don't know what's more endearing: Gosling referring to himself as 'the guy from The Notebook' or that he calls the gym 'the gymnasium.'
The Academy Award-nominated actor also dodged questions about his personal life after he was seen kissing actress Eva Mendes at Disneyland earlier this week. "I'm in a relationship with Disneyland," he told E! News. "I grew up there, I'll keep going, I go all the time. That's all."
Le sigh. Here's the deal, Ryan: if you're going to keep being this cute all the time you're just going to have to call me so I can get on with my life. Either that or I'm going to have to start hanging out in some bad neighborhoods with the hope that you will come swooping in to save the day.
