What could have been taken from the pages of her show the Bold and the Beautiful is actually a real-life tragedy for soap star Hunter Tylo. Her 19-year-old son, Michael Tylo, Jr., accidentally drowned in the family swimming pool in Henderson, Nevada.

E! Online reports the actress’ son was discovered in the backyard pool by an unnamed family member late Sunday evening. A spokesperson for the Clark County Coroner’s Office confirmed the teenager suffered from a seizure disorder and had a seizure then fell into the pool. Drug and alcohol tests have been ordered as a matter of course, but the case is expected to be declared an accident.

Hunter and her husband, Michael, an assistant professor of film at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, have been married since 1997. They also have two young daughters, Izabella, 10, and Katya, 9. Hunter also has a 27-year-old son, Christopher, from a previous marriage.

A representative for the family says they are not commenting, although tragedy is not unfamiliar to them.

Their daughter Katya, four months old at the time, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare eye disease that required the removal of her right eye. Through surgery and chemotherapy, the cancer went into remission. A few years later, it reappeared but those tumors disappeared and the girl has been cancer free since. Tylo started a charity, Hunter’s Chosen Child, to raise awareness of the disease.

In 1997, the 45-year-old actress sued mega-producer Aaron Spelling for wrongful termination after she was fired from Melrose Placewhen she announced her pregnancy. Tylo won almost $5 million in the suit but her role of Taylor McBride went to Lisa Rinna, before her lips were surgically plumped to astounding proportions.

Tylo began on the Bold and the Beautiful in 1992, then joined the show full-time in 1998. Soap St
