Police cars, helicopters, fire trucks and ambulances are surrounding Britney Spears' Beverly Hills home - after the star refused to hand back her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

All the emergency services are currently at the star's house following the incident, which is being referred to as a "family custody dispute" by the Los Angeles police.

The star has refused to hand over sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, to Federline following a scheduled visit on Thursday (03Jan08) - which was due to end at 7pm when Federline's bodyguard arrived to pick up the boys.

Police were called to the scene around an hour later, although details of who made the call have not yet been released. Several police helicopters, cop cars, ambulances and fire trucks later arrived at Spears' home, with additional back-up vehicles and officers appearing throughout the ordeal.

Earlier on Thursday (03Jan08), Spears appeared in court 90 minutes late for her deposition in her child custody case - and testified for 14 minutes. On Wednesday (02Jan08), the singer skipped a second court-ordered deposition, causing her lawyer Sorrel Trope to file a motion requesting permission to quit the case because of a "communication breakdown" with Spears.

Spears and Federline's divorce was finalised last summer (07), with the singer losing custody of her kids in October last year (07). Both Federline and Spears are currently fighting for the custody of their children. (JC/WN&WNWCZM&WNWCUW/)
