Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Aussie actor Hugh Jackman are spearheading a new health campaign to fight child obesity in the U.S.

The stars are teaming up with TV doctor Mehmet Oz for the Fresh from the Garden Gala, which aims to raise funds to help introduce a new HealthCorps program to schools across the country.

The initiative aims to place recent college graduates in high schools to mentor kids as they develop into young adults. The gala will take place in New York on 13 April (11). (MT/WNWCAH&WNWC/KL)
