Babies may slow down other women’s careers, but for Tori Spelling, more seems to be better. The thirty-eight year old former Beverly Hills, 90210 star gave birth to a little girl this morning and shortly thereafter announced the premiere date for a new season of her reality show focusing on adjusting to life with a newborn. It’ll be broadcast on Oxygen on November 29th. As for the little girl herself, she weighed in at six pounds, fourteen ounces and was twenty inches long. Both mother and daughter are said to be recuperating and doing very well, and Pop Blend sends out its sincerest congratulations.

As for the name, Tori and her husband Dean have gone with Hattie Margaret McDermott. They posted the handle choice, along with a picture of the newborn’s cute little feet on Tori’s official website. With previous children christened Liam, Stella and Jack, I wasn’t expecting something too far outside the box here, but I must admit I do approve of Hattie. Maybe it’s because I’m a fan of Parenthood or maybe it’s just because it has a nice ring to it. Regardless, I’m a solid thumbs up.

But what do you think? Would you ever consider naming a daughter Hattie? Is it too inside the box for a celebrity? Or is it refreshing to see famous people name their daughter something she won’t be made fun of about? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
