Veteran actor Tony Curtis has confessed he married Psycho star Janet Leigh to boost his Hollywood career.

The legendary lothario, 83, has bedded a string of beauties and wed six times. He married first wife Leigh in 1951, and they had a daughter together, actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

But he admits the publicity surrounding their relationship was one of the main reasons for the marriage. Curtis says, "I even married Janet for my career. I could see the two of us could get more attention together. We had the paparazzi wherever we went, we were on the cover of all the movie magazines. It wasn't enough for a man to be cute, he had to be connected to the right woman."

Asked if he regrets the nuptials, Curtis adds: "No, no, no, not at all. I loved it. What better way to get famous?" (ZN/WNSTIS/MT)
