Kerry Washington may only play a crisis management expert on her ABC drama Scandal, but she just averted a major crisis at the Oscars for the writers of For The Phone Call. Washington who presented the Academy Award for Live Action Short Film handed the Oscar to the writers of the film, Mat Kirkby and James Lucas when she noticed that one of them had some lipstick on his cheek. So of course, because Kerry Washington is the perfect award presenter, she made sure he did not go make his acceptance speech with a smudge on his cheek.

Leave it to Washington to save the day. The recent mother, and Golden Globe nominated actress just proved that she is just like our moms, who lick their finger to take the dirt off of our faces. The writers looked thankful for her save, and could quickly go to make their acceptance speech with a camera ready, lipstick smudge-free face, to enjoy their win without any embarrassment. Even in someone else's big moment, it’s difficult not to notice the kindness and grace of Washington.

Washington

Just a few days ago as the actress stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres where she admitted that she had an Oscars mission. She wanted to be apart of an epic selfie like last year’s. But, it looks like Washington got her own moment to shine. And so far we can crown her as the hero of the night.

We vote Washington gets to be a presenter from now on, because if she can make sure the winners are camera ready, and prevent an embarrassing moment, especially at what is the usually the best moment of these Oscar winners lives, she truly deserves the annual gig. As for seeing Washington on screen again, you can watch her solve some more major crisis as Olivia Pope on Scandal. She also recently announced her involvement in two upcoming films, Malcolm D. Lee’s rom-com, Is He the One? and Amma Asante’s thriller, Unforgettable.
