ABC's The Bachelor and Bachelorette Home Up For Rent

published: 2012-01-21 13:19:43
The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have gone on location. This past season, contestant Ben Flajnik and his possible partners only spent one night in the regular mansion before heading to Sonoma County, where Flajnik hails. Does this change The Bachelor experience? Not really. But it does leave plenty of open house for the willing bidder.

The “Villa de la Vina” was built specifically for shooting the two popular ABC reality programs in 2005. Many full seasons of both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette were shot in the lovely Santa Monica Mountain home. Now, according to Zillow, the 6 bedroom, 4.5 bath home is available to rent.

That is, anytime The Bachelor or Bachelorette are not occupying the location. So, what does it take to rent out the sort of famous 4,800 square feet of space? A pretty penny. Right now, the space looks to be going for $2,100 a night. Don’t worry, though. That gets discounted to $13,225 for a week and $35,225 for a month. Not too shabby, at least according to spokeswoman Arlene Winnick.
“What’s great about the property is that anyone can rent it.”

Anyone may be a bit of an overstatement, but with manicured grounds, a baby grand piano, and plenty of amenities, for those who can afford it The Bachelor pad actually looks to be a tranquil place to rent to get a break from the chaos of everyday life. Quite the opposite of what it seems like on television.
