It’s been more than four months since Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz announced they were ending their brief marriage, but after paparazzi caught the pair holding hands post break-up announcement, the rumor mill went into overdriving speculating on the couple’s long-term prospects. I wouldn’t go so far as to call Ashlee and Pete officially, one hundred percent over, but new pictures certainly don’t make the situation seem rosy.

Late last week, photographers caught Ashlee Simpson holding hands and smooching with Boardwalk Empire actor Vincent Piazza. The former stand out division one hockey player first landed on the public’s radar in 2007 following the release of the acclaimed indie film Rocket Science, but it’s been his turn as gangster Lucky Luciano on the HBO hit that’s turned the actor into a name. Apparently, Simpson liked what she saw because the singer had to know the media would be following her every move if she left the house with a new man.
