BBC Apologizes For Airing Drawing Of Prince William With Penis Face

Itís not good taste to air a photo of a Prince with a penis drawn on his forehead. While hilarious, the move might incur the ire of the populace, the TV censors, and maybe even the crown itself. The BBC found this out the hard way this week when it accidentally aired a humorous photo of new daddy Prince William with a dick on his head during a promotional spot for the humorous Barbershop quartet, Barbershopera.
On Thursday, the BBC1ís BBC Breakfast program opted to air a highlight segment on the group, featuring spots from the music video, ďI Could Have Married Kate.Ē According to the Guardian, the material was provided to the television program by Barbershopera for a scheduled appearance on the series. Apparently, program editors missed the penis drawing, but a whole lot of viewers caught it and were not amused.
Thereís no way to catch the BBC Breakfast footage, but luckily Barbershopera has its own YouTube page, and the footage is available in the actual video, which first hit the channel all the way back in 2011. Trying to find the hidden photo in the video is sort of like a Whereís Waldo hunt, but luckily the image pops up sooner than later, and if you arenít feeling lucky, we also included it, above.
I actually find the creepy guy licking a magazine with Kate Middleton on the cover to be far more tasteless than the juvenile penis drawing, but people do love to complain and when thereís something as blatant as a silly penis drawing to harp on, it's obvious a few people will be up in arms about the incident.
A representative for the BBC spoke out on Thursday to talk about the unfortunate accident that air live on television.
"This image was shown fleetingly within a comedy promotional video for Barbershopera, a humorous barbershop group, who were appearing later on in the programme. The material was provided by Barbershopera but we failed to spot the offending material within it. We apologise for this."
Both Kate Middleton and Prince Harry have had to deal with actual naked photographs at one point or another. Middleton was caught sunbathing topless in what she thought was a cut-off completely private area when a pervy photographer took some long range photographs that later appeared in a French magazine, much to the royal familyís chagrin. Harryís nudity scandal is more of his own fault. The younger prince got a little wild in Las Vegas back in August of last year, stripping down and taking some nude photographs with a group of naked young women. The point being, having a dick drawn on your face for a crude comedy video seems like a cakewalk in comparison. Still, the lesson to be learned is that if you are ever going to appear on television, a crude drawing is probably not the best footage you could choose.
