Beyonce Returns To The Stage, Can She Reclaim Her Popularity?

By Mack Rawden 2012-05-27 21:58:38
Famous before she was even old enough to vote, Beyonce Knowles spent her twenties selling millions of records and churning out hit single after hit single. She won more than a dozen Grammy Awards, starred in major Hollywood movies, released fashion lines and made millions of dollars in the process. With little left to accomplish professionally, itís no surprise she finally decided to have a child with husband Jay-Z. Daughter Blue Ivy Carter was born back in January, and the singer took almost five months off.

Over the weekend, Beyonce returned to the stage for the first time since the birth, and by all accounts, her Atlantic City performances went extremely well. She played approximately two dozen songs during each gig, and had thousands of fans screaming each night including Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama. Itís clear her fans will follow her around the world to watch her belt out the old favorites, but what isnít so clear however is whether sheíll be able to continue producing new content fans and radio stations take to.

Thereís nothing inherently about having a baby that would prevent a woman from getting back on top, but given how time-consuming and arduous making a record and touring can be, itís entirely possible Beyonce will choose to spend her efforts enjoying life with her husband and baby rather than straining to continue creating number one albums. I donít doubt that sheíll write more great songs in her lifetime, but Iím not sure if sheíll ever have another professional run like she did in her twenties.

What do you think? Will Beyonce be as professional successful as she was prior to being a mother? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll belowÖ
