Brittany Kerr Apologizes For Her Part In Jason Aldean's Cheating

After staying out of the public eye and deleting her Twitter account, Brittany Kerr has decided to change course and tackle her cheating scandal head on. The former American Idol contestant and current Charlotte Bobcats cheerleader issued a statement through her publicist today apologizing for what happened and for those she hurt.
The incident in question occurred last week at a crowded bar on the Sunset Strip. Kerr was there having a good time when she bumped into country singer Jason Aldean. The two hit if off immediately, dancing, flirting and eventually kissing the night away. Unfortunately, while sheís single, heís married with two kids. Kerr reportedly told friends afterwards she had no idea he was married, but with time to reflect, her conscience apparently isnít clear. Hereís what she had to say this morning, as per E! NewsÖ
ĒThe actions I portrayed recently were not a representation of my true character, but a lapse in judgment on my part. I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this, including my friends and family."
Itís unlikely this abbreviated statement will squash the backlash Kerr is facing, but it is a step in the right direction. Whether she feels wronged or not, she needed to take at least a portion of the responsibility. Good on her for doing that. And good on Aldean for recently owning up to his portion during a Facebook post, as well.
Expect this scandal to blow over pretty quickly, unless Jasonís wife decides to speak publically on the hurt she must be feeling.
