Dancing With The Stars: Are You Happy With The Final 3?

It seems like every season on Dancing With The Stars a contestant who has previously wowed the judges winds up going home far earlier than expected. It’s fan overconfidence at its worst, but I’m not even surprised by it anymore. In fact, my face hardly changed its expression when Maria Menounos was given her walking papers in fourth place.

The audience was clearly displeased and surprised by the results, but then again, that doesn’t necessarily mean the three remaining contestants aren’t deserving of a coveted final three spot. Donald Driver, William Levy and Katherine Jenkins have all battled their share of long nights and really grown as dancers. I’m happy for each and every one of them, but as for whether I wish Menounos had one of their places, I'm still not sure.

Dancing With The Stars might be a popularity contest, but it’s also still meant to crown the best dancer of the bunch. I like it when certain celebrities overcome a lack of talent with charm and effort to make a few weeks longer than they probably should have, but once it gets down to the final four or five, I really do want to see the best dancers prevail.
