Glenn Beck Attacks Glee For Being PropagandaAuthor: Joseph Giannone

Shock Jock radio personality and conspiracy theorist television host Glenn Beck is at it once again with his self-prophesized promotion of “values” and a stronger “moral” center for all Americans. America is not buying into his values though, because Fox is "transitioning" Glenn Beck off their network. A smart move, I might add. In an obvious attempt to destroy his ratings, or maybe help them, Glenn Beck recently attacked the show Glee for being propaganda. If none of his other rambling conspiracies has made Americans’ more livid with his crack-pot ideologies, this surely did the job.
Glenn Beck states, This show stands out and stands for almost every value that I have. [...] I've watched it with a sense of stunned horror combined with a sense of admiring awe. It is a brilliant, brilliant show. Very, very well done. But it is a horror show. All of the characters are extremely good-looking, extremely talented. [Pointing at Jane Lynch:] She's by the way hysterical. Everybody in here is somebody that your kids would want to be like. Doesn't make any sense, right? Wait for it. This is the point in his sermon where he opens up the Glenn Beck conspiracy theory can of worms: Except everyone is sleeping with everyone else, there's no values, it's all self-gratification — it's a nightmare. Brilliant songs and performances brilliantly edited and shot. [He shows a scene were the Glee club performs Sing by My Chemical Romance]. It's brilliant! Brilliant. I looked at my wife and said, "There is no way to beat this." [...] This is propaganda and it's an anthem. It's an anthem saying, "Join us." How can you and I possibly win against that? I understand Glenn Beck is a conspiracy theorist. Yet, it still bewilders me that Glenn and his teams of producers still have the time to break down the lyrics of a song like Sing by My Chemical Romance and state that it promotes lurid behavior. Glenn don't you understand? This song was performed on a show like Glee, where the basis of the entire program is about High school students singing in a glee club and learning to get along with each other through racial and cultural differences. Still, Glenn Beck finds the show incriminating and suggests that Glee is propaganda. Maybe that is why Fox News is "transitioning" him off their network? |
