Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar is putting pen to paper - he's releasing an autobiography. The musician, known as 'The Red Rocker', has signed a deal with It Books, an imprint of publishing house HarperCollins, to write a memoir detailing his rock star life.

Hagar announced the news on Wednesday (23Jun10), revealing he has "been writing this book my whole life" and decided it was "time to put it in between two covers."

The star now fronts rock band Chickenfoot and is known for his business ventures, which include founding the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand and restaurant chain. The tome is set to be released next year (11). (KD/WNWA/LR)
