Harry Potter Coming To Universal LA, Will You Go?Author: Mack Rawden

Earlier today, Universal Studios announced it would expand its Wizarding World of Harry Potter to California. The attraction has done wonders for the company’s Orlando based theme park, and now, the hope is the boy wizard can recreate the same magic on the West Coast. Unfortunately, it’s going to take awhile.
According to The Los Angeles Times, construction on the attraction will likely take at least four years, and that won’t even begin until authorities approve an overhaul of the park. Admittedly, it could all be done a lot faster, but Universal Hollywood is reportedly very serious about making sure the final product is as impressive or more impressive than its Florida counterpart. With two different options of where to go, it wouldn’t make any sense for California to half-ass since Midwestern and foreign travelers would likely spend their money at the better alternative. If all goes well, the Harry Potter exhibit could generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the residents of California, but the question is whether tourists will still be excited about the books and movies years after the final one was released. In order to achieve a profit, the attraction will need to attract a whole lot more than just the diehard fans. What do you think?
