Three years ago, Glee star Jane Lynch met psychologist Dr. Lara Embry during a fundraiser in which the latter was being honored. The two hit it off almost immediately, and a year later, they were married in a small but beautiful ceremony on Memorial Day in Massachusetts. In subsequent interviews and appearances, the lovebirds seemed to be enjoying their married life, but apparently, the truth was a little murkier than that.

The two women announced this week that they’ve decided to end their marriage. Here’s what Lynch told People
"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter."

Sometimes those we have the best initial chemistry with don’t prove to be nearly as compatible over the long haul. That’s why experts typically recommend people wait at least a few years after meeting to get engaged. That allows the potential couple to settle into a routine and more accurately know whether it could work over the long haul.

Regardless of whether they jumped in too early or not, Pop Blend sends out its sincerest sympathies to Embry, Lynch and Embry’s daughter Haden, who Jane reportedly got very close to. The actress may have a full plate as far as her work life goes, but none of that will be able to replace the connection she briefly found and the family she was apart of.
