There’s perhaps nothing more unnerving to write than a story about a celebrity maybe being pregnant. Famous females are typically so skinny that even the smallest stomach pooch can be cited by overly eager fans and bloggers as a baby bump. The truth is sometimes women just gain a bit of weight, and to be perfectly honest, many of them actually look better when they do. Still, the rumor mill doesn’t pause for tact, and as potential pregnancy rumors go, there’s more substance to this one than most.

Over the past few weeks, whispers of a Jessica Simpson pregnancy have been everywhere. The singer/ actress was photographed with a bit of a stomach pooch, and in recent pictures, it’s seemed to grow. Now, those claims have been bolstered by a story in OK Magazine, in which she tells the publication she loves being pregnant because she can eat whatever she wants. The Mirror is claiming Simpson was paid five hundred thousand dollars for the story, but it’s unlikely that figure will ever be formally verified. Regardless, I think making money on interviews is just good business.

After her high profile marriage to Nick Lachey ended, the singer famously dated Tony Romo, much to the chagrin of Cowboy fans. Recently, she said yes to a marriage proposal from former NFL player Eric Johnson, and there’s rumors the couple may tie the knot in Hawaii in November.

With all the evidence put together, I’m pretty comfortable in saying Simpson is actually pregnant. OK Magazine might not be The New York Times, but I highly doubt they’d run a fake interview.
