Kevin Federline and Britney Spears may have had a rocky marriage and a very public custody battle over their children, but that doesn’t mean her former husband isn’t happy for the pop star. The thirty year old’s engagement to Jason Trawick has been front page news all week, and word has apparently reached Federline who’s currently in Australia filming a reality show called Excess Baggage. During a sitdown with TV Week, he told the interviewer he’s happy because his children love mom’s new fiancé. He went on to say he’s spoken to Trawick a few times and he “seems like a really good guy”.

At some point, you have to put the bitterness and the hostility aside and just root for people to be happy. That seems to be the message here from Federline. According to The New York Daily News, the former dancer also had some kind words for Britney herself. He said she sounds really happy whenever they speak and that she seems to be “in a good place”.

Looking back, it’s probably safe to say Federline and Spears simply got married too soon. Since their divorce, each has found a maturity and a stability that didn’t seem to be present in their marriage. This high road approach from K-Fed speaks to that, as does Britney’s engagement to someone who’s convinced her to reconnect with her family and be happy with herself.
