Has Kris Humphries ever taken the high road? Shortly after miraculously landing a two-year, twenty-four million dollar contract from the Brooklyn Nets, the twenty-seven-year-old decided to hit up Twitter, not to celebrate but to rub the news in Kanye West’s face.
The hip-hop star, who is now openly dating Humphries’ soon-to-be ex-wife Kim Kardashian, released the song “Cold” earlier this year in which he said the NBA player was lucky he didn’t have his buddy and part owner of the Nets Jay-Z cut him from the team. Obviously, that cut has been festering for awhile because as soon as he got his chance, Humphries lashed back with a clear reference. Here’s what he tweeted…
I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ "lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team" lol!
I get wanting to fire back after West dissed him. I get the impulse to want to overtly quote the lyric, but really, this doesn’t make anyone look particularly good. Sometimes rising above and not doing battle is the most gracious, tactful and ultimately, cool way to proceed.
Regardless of the PR glitch, Humphries projects to be a major piece in the Nets puzzle moving forward. He will likely start at power forward and should improve on his career highs last season, at least if he doesn’t wind up traded to the Magic in a Dwight Howard deal once Brook Lopez is eligible to be moved in January.
