Lindsay Lohan's Father Wants Her Placed Under A Conservatorship

Michael Lohan isn’t letting the failed intervention stop him from helping his daughter. Lindsay’s dad reportedly met with an attorney this weekend and told the litigator he’d like to get his daughter placed under a conservatorship in order to keep her from drinking and using drugs and to help protect her finances.

According to TMZ, Michael doesn’t want either him or ex-wife/ Lindsay’s mother Dina to be appointed as the actual conservator, but he does think the conservator, whoever he or she may be, should make everyone involved go to family counseling. That’s obviously a few steps away at this point, but if nothing else comes from this, that certainly should.

Several years back, pop princess Britney Spears was placed under a conservatorship by her father after a series of high profile breakdowns, and in retrospect, that decision was an absolute home run. The musician has steadily improved from that day forward, and it’s been years since anyone has heard about bizarre or law-breaking behavior. Lindsay, however, is a bit of a different story. There have been numerous brushes with the law over the past few months, as well as accusations of irresponsible behavior (destroying Liz Taylor’s trailer, stealing things, not paying hotel bills), but there hasn’t really been a head-shaving incident or something else bizarre enough to guarantee more than an immature girl making poor choices.

There’s no word on when Michael might file the actual petition, but whenever he does, we’ll let you know. Until then, here's to hoping Lindsay's problems solve on her own, and we start hearing more about her acting than her personal life.
