Britney Spears is getting married. Over the past decade and a half, the pop star has waded through her share of ups and downs. Now she’s emerged on the other side ready to tie the knot with a man that’s not exactly a household name. His lack of fame shouldn’t come as a big surprise given Spears’ previous two husbands weren’t on the A-list, but his career success and apparent stability are marked departures from what she’s gone for in the past.

The forty year-old Trawick was formerly Britney’s agent at William Morris, but according to E!, he’s since left to run Famos LLC. Because of her immense popularity and incredibly earning potential, she’ll likely always be the breadwinner, but that’s okay in my book since he’s clearly proven he can make a fine living for himself. Feminism may have changed society’s ideas about who should work and when, but no amount of progress will change the fact that it’s never good policy for a woman to marry a man that can’t hold down a job. Luckily, no worry on that front.

Trawick is also apparently the one who got Brit Brit back on good terms with her parents. Encouraging renewed contact with family members is normally a good sign in a potential mate, and if he’s the one that facilitated her relationship with the Spears’, that’s even more of a thumbs up.

Because of her questionable decisions in the past, it’s hard to blindly trust Britney and assume this marriage will be forever. Hollywood is Hollywood. Divorces come quickly and unexpectedly, but still, as a husband, I really can’t find any faults with this guy. I think this thing might actually last.
