McCartney Upset With NASA Over Animal Testing

Animal-loving Sir Paul McCartney is furious with experts at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for allegedly funding science experiments on monkeys.

The Beatles legend is begging the U.S. space agency's bosses to withdraw financial support for radiation testing conducted on spider monkeys. And he's convinced NASA boffins should be able to conceive a more animal-friendly solution.

In a letter to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, McCartney writes, "I believe NASA has the ingenuity to investigate the health effects of space travel without confining and experimenting on animals. It would be terribly disappointing if in our zeal to explore new frontiers and to learn about the fascinating universe where we live we began to regress in our treatment of the animals with whom we share this planet. May I appeal to you to cancel this experiment." (PAW/WNWE/LR)
