Nas Releases First Single From His New Album 'Life Is Good'

Today is a big day in music. Not long ago we unveiled the aged but unknown rap collaboration between Zach Galifianakis and Fiona Apple, which is appropriately called “Come Over and Get It (Up in 'Dem Guts).” Now, instead of a comic, yet valid attempting to rap, Nas has just released the first single from his new album Life Is Good. Titled “Nasty” the song sees Master Nas returning to his solo career after a long stint with reggae artist Ziggy Marley. Check out the song:

It’s comforting to listen to a rap song that is actually good. With its upbeat jazz samples and Nas’s signature rapping style, it’s epic. After departing from his solo career for 3 years, Nasty Nas is back and better than ever. His highly acclaimed Untitled album saw the rapper discussing issues that were not used in his earlier work. He touched on political content, racial issues, and used other provocative subject matter. Even though it is unclear whether or not Life Is Good will continue in that same direction, I will be surprised if it doesn’t at least delve into some controversial subject matter.

As a matter of fact, Nas is not shy of controversy. Most notably before his concert at Virginia Tech, after the grisly murders of many people at the hands of a disgruntled student, Bill O’ Reilly attempted to call the rapper out for his use of lyrics about guns and even exploited that fact that he was incarcerated for having guns. O’Reilly tried to convince his audience that Nas was not suitable for playing a concert there, but the rapper quickly retorted, calling out the TV host: “I don't take him serious. His shit is all about getting facts twisted or whatever.” Let’s hope he stays controversial.
