Britney Spears fans around the world got a very special Christmas gift this weekend when a never before heard song by the pop icon leaked onto the internet. "Strangest Love" is a slow, sultry ballad about experiencing a deeper love connection with someone. It reminds me of other great Britney songs such as "Shadow" from her 2003 album In The Zone or "Unusual You" from 2008's Circus. This is a different style of music than what Britney is famous for, but I have to admit that if she put a whole album out of songs like this, I would eat it up like candy.

The song is rumored to be a product of a collaboration between Spears and producer Guy Chambers, possibly recorded with the intention of being included on In The Zone, which I consider to be one of Britney's best albums. I hope this leak is a sign of more music like this being released, because as much as I love the hard beats of Britney's famous dance tracks, when she goes with a smooth, mid-tempo track like in "Strangest Love", it's always something memorable. When something this good gets leaked, it makes me crazy because I can't imagine how many amazing Britney songs are out there that we have never heard. Until the next leak, Merry Britmas everyone!
