Nicolas Cage will forever be haunted by his latest co-star - he had to spend a day staring down a snarling wolf on the set of new movie Season of the the Witch.

The actor has encountered many stunt scares during his 30-year career, but he's been scarred by his latest wild encounter and still can't believe he risked great harm for the sake of a film.

He tells WENN, "That was a scary day. That really was. I had a wolf that was snarling, a real wolf in my face and there was nobody holding on to him, and I was only like a foot away. A few things did flash in my mind - that I was going to lose my face and I was going to get bitten. It got to me. That was a scary day and one I won't forget in a hurry." (KL/WN&RXM/JMA)
