One Track Sunday: Mumford And Sons Play I Will Wait Live
By Jessica Grabert 2 years ago
Mumford and Son’s debut album, Sigh No More, featured a lot of rousing choruses, raucous singing, and throbbing beats. The music was fast-paced and compelling and the follow-up to the effort seems like it will feature much of the same. Not that that is a bad thing. “I Will Wait”, the lead single from Mumford and Son’s sophomore effort, Babel, is eager and refreshing, and sounds even better when it is played live.
I know this not because I’ve seen the band live lately, but because they were nice enough to release a professionally filmed, live version of the song shot at the Red Rocks Ampitheater in Colorado. I always thought the bands music was a little hard to dance to—as a wedding DJ acquaintance of mine also mentioned—but the video shows fans making do by hopping up and down with fervor.
“I Will Wait” makes for a nice live track, and the Red Rocks venue romanticizes the whole experience a little bit. If you were actually there for the performance, you should be pretty stoked you got to be part of something pretty special, from the stone backdrop to the stand up bass on stage.
Fans only have a few weeks to wait for Babel, which will be released on September 24th.
