There’s a lesson to be learned from the life and times of the-artist-formerly-known-as-Puff-Daddy; don’t hang out with the kind of dumb ass that brings a gun to a club in Times Square. Thankfully no one was killed in the 1999 incident, but three people were wounded when Jamal Barrows started firing away in a now defunct nightclub after some “words were exchanged” while the group was celebrating Barrows new music contract.
Now Diddy can put all this behind him, as the New York Post reported that the lawsuit surrounding the incident has finally been settled. Welcome to the American legal system. P. Diddy’s bill was not disclosed, and everyone except for the owner of the club signed a confidentiality agreement in order to let this story blow over as soon as possible. However, Michael Bergos is angling for a book deal, so he refused to sign the agreement. Again, welcome to America, kids. Bergos said he declined to sign the agreement because, “I did nothing wrong and I may need to talk about [the incident] sometime in the future." The most wounded victim, Natania Reuben scored nearly two million dollars over the incident. Reuben was shot in the nose, and received a face full of bullet shards. Now that’s a memorable night at the club. The other two victims received $500,000 and $50,000 respectively. Now P Diddy can go on to bigger and better things; like more guest roles in shows like Hawaii Five-0. Oh yeah. |
