Police Think Multiple People May Be Behind LA FiresAuthor: Mack Rawden

The city of Los Angeles is reeling from a series of intentionally set fires that have caused millions of dollars in damages and sent one firefighter to the hospital. Authorities have cited the number of arsons at forty-four and are currently investigation the situation. At first, the perpetrator was assumed to be a single individual, but as the number has risen, investigators are beginning to suspect it might be multiple people working in tandem or at least one copycat emulating the work of the original serial arsonist.
All of the fires have started with cars but several have spread to nearby buildings. According to The Los Angeles Times, a police spokesman said many of the fires were set within a short distance from one another in Hollywood and West Hollywood but because the scope later expanded to Lennox and Westside, they’re not sure a single person could have been responsible for all. Authorities are currently looking for a man driving a white and tan mid 90s Lexus ES300. He was seen near at least one of the fires, but they haven’t yet said whether he’s a suspect or a person of interest. If you have any information about this vehicle or other facts that may be pertinent to the case, please contact your local police department immediately. If this rampage continues for much longer, it wouldn’t be a surprise if someone ended up dead. |
