Rap Star Eminem Teams Up With Chrysler To Help Detroit Community

Rap superstar Eminem is using his partnership with car giant Chrysler to help community groups in his native Detroit, Michigan. The Real Slim Shady hitmaker recently championed his Motor City roots by paying tribute to his hometown in a commercial for the car company, which premiered during the Super Bowl last month (Feb11).

The ad's popularity sparked a rush for Chrysler's 'Imported from Detroit' t-shirts, which have been selling out on the company's website. And now bosses at Chrysler have vowed to give a portion of the profits from t-shirt sales to the rapper's Marshall Mathers Foundation.

Charities including the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Michigan, Habitat for Humanity Detroit and Think Detroit PAL will also benefit from the purchases.

Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg says, "We are very happy to partner with the Chrysler brand in supporting the local communities. The Chrysler brand and The Marshall Mathers Foundation share a parallel commitment to give back to the City of Detroit." (MJ/WNWCAH/KD)
