Rihanna May Take A Year Off After Current Tour Wraps
Rihanna has been a girl on the go since she arrived on the music scene in 2005 with “Pon de Replay.” In less than a decade, the 25-year-old artist has produced seven albums and numerous tours and has become one of the biggest celebrities in music. Now, however, it may finally be time for Rihanna to take a lengthy break.
We’re not talking talking a short vacation, either. Ryan Seacrest first broke the news during his radio show on Wednesday, stating that Rihanna plans to take a year off after her upcoming tour.
"Sold-out tours, but sources say after this tour wraps, she plans to take up to a year off to unwind."
If Rihanna does decide to go on hiatus, it will be some time in the future. The songstress only recently kicked off her Diamonds World Tour, hitting the stage on March 8 with a show in Buffalo, New York. Rihanna will continue to tour through the spring and summer, finishing up dates in the U.S. in May before springing overseas to play additional dates in June and July. It looks like a fairly exhausting schedule and taking a year off may be a much-needed break for the singer, although it will come with risk. Being a pop star has a lot to do with buzz and Rihanna has been able to maintain that buzz for a longer time period than most. We’ll see if taking a break hurts the singer, or merely leaves her fans wanting more upon her return.
