Should Snooki Let Her Son Grow Up In The Public Eye?

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi left the New Jersey hospital she gave birth at this morning, and in what might be a telling sign, she and her infant son were both photographed on the way out. The reality star vowed during her pregnancy to keep the cameras away from the hospital out of respect for her fiancé and her newborn son, but when the day finally arrived, representatives for MTV were supposedly inside the hospital capturing it all on tape.

I’m sure Snooki was offered a ton of money for such access. If MTV winds up running a baby special, I’m sure it’ll do huge ratings. Over the past three years, the pint-sized spitfire has made millions being herself on camera. It makes sense she’d let one of her biggest life moments be filmed, but for the longterm health of baby Lorenzo, it’s unclear whether such exposure will actually benefit him.

A baby special is one thing, but if the episodes in question do as well as expected, will that keep the cameras on longer? Will this kid wind up spending his first half decade with cameras in his home? These are the questions that start coming into play the longer this drags out. A case could certainly be made that the exposure is a good thing. With millions of dollars in resources, this kid can grow up and be able to try whatever the hell he wants. On the other hand, a case could also be made that being raised with America watching could seriously fuck him up.
