Sinead O'Connor Vows Never To Be Romantically Involved Again

After a brief courtship, a Vegas wedding, a wild night out that ended with a drug dealer mistakenly trying to sell her crack, a break-up, a reconciliation and a plea for help on Twitter, it seems Sinead OíConnorís strange marriage is officially over. The singer took to her website to update fans on exactly what happened, and the truth is just as bizarre as you might expect.
Apparently, the media reports about the wedding have been absolutely savage in Ireland. The frequency and maliciousness of them put a strain on the coupleís marriage, which was made exponentially worse after one reporter contacted her new husband Barry Herridgeís workplace to demand he be fired over Sineadís pot smoking. He works as a drug counselor, which is odd considering her openness about marijuana but most assuredly, not a reason for a meddling journalist to try and get him fired.
Speaking in her typical, blunt style, OíConnor verified her marriage to Herridge is, in fact, over, but she also took it a step further, vowing to remain unattached for the rest of her life. Hereís what she had to sayÖ
I will never again associate myself romantically with anyone as I could not bear to see these things done again to someone I love.
Thatís a bold claim, one that would normally be made out of frustration, but OíConnor actually remains reasonably positive during portions of her status update. She thanks fans for sticking by her and offering encouragement and vows to remain fundamentally herself. Itís easy to point the finger and chastise this relationship. In fact, Iím pretty sure Herridge and OíConnor would be the first to admit they may have rushed into it, but no one expects a marriage to potentially cost someone his job or his relationship with those closest to him.
Pop Blend wishes Sinead and Barry nothing but the best, whether this really is the end or they choose to try and make it work again at some point in the future.
